JVB edged out by Lincoln-Sudbury for first DCL loss

JVB suffered their first Dual County League defeat this season, as host Lincoln-Sudbury scored in the last seconds of the game.  The two teams had deadlocked at 1-1 a few weeks earlier and this game was no different.  The first half ended 0-0 as both sides had multiple forays throughout.  In the second half L-S opened the scoring with a great move from their left winger who dribbled around the JVB defender and roofed a shot just under the crossbar.  A few minutes later JVB equalized as a corner by Elizabeth Walsh was met at the far post by Emma Henschke who fired in for her 13th goal of the season.  JVB went on to dominate the next twenty minutes until the last minute of the game when an L-S striker generated space through some clever footwork before chipping the JVB keeper with an unstoppable shot.

Despite the result the JVB played one of their best games of the season and will now look to finish strong with their last three games against Newton South, Waltham and Wayland.
